Representatives of the OSCE/ODIHR Needs Assessment Mission get acquainted with the work of the State Audit Office
Representatives of the OSCE/ODIHR Needs Assessment Mission held an introductory meeting at the State Audit Office. The members of the mission were met by the Auditor General Irakli Mekvabishvili, the Deputy Auditor General Ekaterine Ghazadze and the head of the Political Finances Monitoring
Department, Besik Kochiashvili.
At the meeting, the representatives of the State Audit Office talked to the members of the delegation about the amendments to the legislation regulating political finances. They also introduced the current status of election campaign and political finances monitoring.
The questions of the members of the delegation were related to the recommendations given by them during the previous visit. The Auditor General Irakli Mekvabishvili noted that the recommendations of the OSCE/ODIHR Needs Assessment Mission were taken into account in implementing the legislative changes.
Representatives of the OSCE/ODIHR Needs Assesment Mission were also interested in the pre-election challenges, preparedness and response measures by the State Audit Office on how to communicate with political actors and other stakeholders, how information transparency is ensured, and more.
